Churchill Island Working Horse Festival 2005 Page : [ 1 ] - 2 - 3 - 4 -
Each Easter the Friends of Churchill Island together with Churchill Island Heritage Farm put on the Churchill Island Working Horse Festival. This is a cross between working horse show, tractor, truck and car show, vintage machinery of all sorts, and a arts & craft festival. The event was held in magnificent weather on the Easter weekend of 2005 at Churchill Island (a tiny Island next to Phillip Island in Victoria Australia). The Churchill Island Heritage Farm is one of the attractions of the area and is open most weekends. The Friends of Churchill Island maintain and promote the farm. I did not exhibit this year but went as a vistor and helped out my club members with loading up etc. This is an annual event and well worth attending. The variation in the displays means that there is likely to be something for everyone. There are so many stalls that the missus won't get too upset about spending time at the show. Plenty of good ehibits of heritage farm working such as working horse, shearing, wool spinning, wood work, coopering, black smithing, etc. An animal nursery was popular with the kids. All in a beautiful sea side setting.
