HOW TO SELECT A PULLEY AND BELT
To Figure Diameter of Pulley Required:-(1) Multiply diameter of engine pulley by speed (R. P. M.) engine will be operated. (2) Divide this amount by speed saw is hammered to run. RESULT is mandrel pulley diameter. BELTING REQUIREMENTS: Our mandrels are for pulleys not over 6" belt width, which transmits up to 25 H. P. when drive pulley is not less than 8" diameter (adaptor 287 SM 2819), and up to 50 H. P. when drive pulley is not less than 12" diameter (adaptor 287 SM 2818). For loads over 50 H. P. use belting 8" wide to a lineshaft, and 6" belt therefrom.

Heavy Duty Yoked Mandrel-(pictured). 54-in. long, 1 1/2-in. diam. High carbon (.35/.45) alloy steel. Heavy steel yoke connects wide, heavy cast iron split type bearings; shims to adjust clearance. Malleable iron saw guide (designed for adjustment with saw running or idle), saw collars, lead adjusters, and arbor wrench included. Takes right hand saw with 1 3/8-in. hole.
