Cut-Off Saw Carriaqe---Consists of metal parts to convert any Ward Sawmill into a serviceable Cut-Off Saw. Use it for cutting flitches into shingle blocks, lath bolts, and other stock requiring uniformly exact lengths and squared butts. An important and unusual feature is the special Automatic Safety Gauge Head which supports the block firmly between the saw and gauge, as shown in left portion of picture. Should a block jam saw, this head instantly backs away and then resets itself automatically. Those familiar with the ordinary unsupported types, where the Jammed, falling block often causes damage or injury, will appreciate this Automatic Safety Gauge Head. Other parts furnished include 2 grooved and 2 plain rollers in holders, 2 sets of gauge arm clamps, bolts, and drawings and instructions for construction. You furnish your own wood parts and thus reduce shipping charges. Easily removed for ordinary sawing. Use only with a cross-cut saw.
