This is an engine badged New Record from a New Record dragsaw. New Record did not make engines and rebadged other peoples. If you can help ID the engine and a possible date range please and I will get back to Ian and let him know. Thanks.

Suggestion #3
I'm probably wrong, not seeing all sides of the engine. But who ever built it had a history with Wisconsin, I'd bet.Another thought: if that is a Wisconsin, it will have the base series letters, such as AA-101 A or B , AB-101 A or B, AH-101 a or B, or what ever, cast on the underside of the cyl. head as shown in the attached JPG.Arthur-- Arthur Southwell RebuildingAPRA Member ID # 976Arcadia, FL USAasouth@strato.netArthur's homepage: http://www.homestead.com/artsouthwell/index.html
Suggestion #4
I agree with Roland Craven - looks just like my 1950's Petter A. Regards Pete -- Peter Scales
Solved: Petter A1 or A2 c1950 with a possible Wisconsin ID
