G42 came out of hiding in the workshops where she has undergone a major overhaul. John Hoy the Operations Manager for the railway moved the locomotive under its own steam for the first time in eight months yesterday and was looking forward to taking it out on a test run to Menzies Creek and return [ … ] |

Today G42 returned to revenue service after an 18 month hiatus with the exception of a brief excursion from the land of mothballs to run a train commemerating 100 years of Garratt locomotives. Puffing Billy Railway (through the society) recently discovered that a house that been built surrounding two historic narrow gauge carriages that are hundred+ year old was being torn down.
