I have never seen one just like this but it appears to have all the
componets of a dead wheight tester for gages.

What a great idea!  #1 certainly looks like a dead-weight gauge tester, the oldest one I have ever seen.  But where do you attach the gauge you are testing?

Agree that it looks like a dead-weight tester for pressure gauges, but where is the gauge under test to be connected to?  Is there a blanked or open fitting around the side or back that we can't see from the photos?
