NA Triple Header Page : [ 1 ] - 2 - 3 -
On 13th April 2005, PBR ran a triple headed consist on train No. 11 on the Yellow Timetable. Leaving Belgrave at the head of the consist was 12A, 7A, and 14A. Normally this train runs double headed to Lakeside, but 12A required testing and Workshops ran the loco on this train to Menzies Creek, then light engine back to Belgrave as Train No.10. This is a very unusual event at the PBR, last time I saw or heard of a triple was about two years ago.

14A is prepared in the loco shed for her day's work. 7A is already out and about doing the shunting in the place of failed D21.

7A works last nights Dinner Special (formerly known as the Night Train) to break up the consist to retain the cars needed for today's lunch train and spot them in the platform so they can reach shore power and be resupplied for the day.

D21 being pushed out of the way in front of the loco shed. It failed during the shunting - an electrical problem. 14A had to work pretty hard to push the loco along with its wheels sliding.

14A finally succeeds in getting D21 out of the way and in front of the workshops for some attention later in the morning.

As we're now running very close to No.11 departure time of 10.30, To save some time two locos get involved in the shunting. 14A sets back up the hill to get the cattle cars for the front of the Lunch Train to Lakeside which leaves later in the day hauled by the Garrett.

14A has picked up the cars, and now works down the steep grade past the Climax shed (where the trolleys live these days).
